Meet The Team

We have a small team of teachers and support staff, all of whom are qualified or working towards qualifications. All members of staff are DBS checked.

Miss Sam

Miss Sam first fell in love with dancing at the age of 3 when she initially started Ballet. After a few years break she took an interest in Street, Hip Hop and Jazz at the age of 10.

At 16, Miss Sam joined Bridgend College to study Performing Arts where she expanded on her love of dance. She continued to study a range of styles including Ballet, Contemporary, Jazz and Tap, but always favoured Jazz and Street and Hip Hop. Miss Sam performed in many shows and choreography pieces during her time at Bridgend College.

Miss Sam obtained 2 NCFE qualifications in dance alongside her BTEC in musical theatre. She also attended classes at Pineapple Dance studios and taught at a musical theatre school.

Miss Sam took a break from dancing to focus on her career in youth work. She joined NYD in 2023, engaging in the adult Jazz and Contemporary classes, chasing her love for dance again.

Miss Sam is our Contemporary Modern Jazz teacher for the children and our Jazz teacher for the adult students.

Miss Megan

Miss Megan started dancing at 3 years old, taking classes in Ballet and Modern. She quickly developed a love of dance and it has been a big part of her life ever since.

In 2020, Megan went to university to study Dance and was also part of the university’s competition team. During this time, she performed in many shows and gained teaching experience in both primary schools and a specialist college. She then went on to complete her Primary Teaching PGCE.

Miss Megan has completed up to and including Intermediate Foundation Ballet with the RAD and up to and including Intermediate in Modern with ISTD. She has also achieved her ISTD Level 4 Diploma in Modern Theatre.

Miss Megan is our Contemporary Teacher for our adult students, although you may see her covering Ballet or Jazz classes from time to time.

Miss Grace

At the age of 5, Miss Grace started dancing with Miss Nikki. She was a very shy little girl, who struggled with confidence. Over time, she became more and more confident.

When Miss Nikki set up her own dance school, Miss Grace continued to dance elsewhere. In 2019, Miss Grace then came back to dance with Miss Nikki. At the age of 13, Miss Grace became Miss Nikki’s assistant for Ballet and Tap.

Miss Grace is currently studying Spanish, Catering, Geography and History for her GCSEs. She is also working towards her professional Level 3 Diploma in Teaching Assistants with the IDTA. She works closely with Miss Nikki, and is going to be sitting her exam when she turns 16.

Miss Bethan

Our newest member of staff, Miss Bethan, started dancing at 3 years old. Miss Bethan started dancing when her mother enrolled her in a class to help with coordination issues. She soon fell in love with it and it became her life growing up.

As an adult Miss Bethan went to university to study Psychology and completed her teaching qualification in post compulsory education and training. Whilst studying in university, she taught some small dance classes for the teacher who supported her through her dance exams and competitions.

Miss Bethan has completed up to and including advanced 2 in Tap, Modern and Jazz dance and up to and including Intermediate in Ballet with ISTD and RAD. She is now going to be studying towards her Level 4 Diploma in Modern Jazz and in September 2022 will become our Modern Jazz teacher for children’s classes, focussing on syllabus training and exams.
